Good nail polish designs?
Do you have any ideas for nail polish designs or mixing different colors? I have my nails grown out to a decent length. I usually either do a solid color or 2 different ones (one for the nail bed, one for the tip). Any colors you favor or something?Good nail polish designs?

You could pull apart the green scourer on a sponge to form a background for the rest of the nail, or try newspaper (the small print).

I recently bought some Konad stamping nail art to try, but I'm curious as to whether or not I can use regular polish on the design plates. What are some pretty nail/toes designs?
i brought some nail art pens and nail polish in every colour.So i need some Easy designs. For my fingers and toes.I already know about some thing called the ';watermelon'; where you paint the tip of your nail green and the rest red or pink.Next you add a couple of black dots.And add a white line to seperate the two colours.But i forgot the rest of designs i knew .What are some pretty nail/toes designs?

As a licensed nail tech...im gonna have to say that they are either nail stickers...or pictures of money that were cut up and then glued on and painted over with clear coat...

Straight line for french tips && different nail designs help?
I grew my nails out and shaped them up. I wanna do french tips on my regular nails instead of paying to get them done because that could damage my real nails and the nearby nail salons suck when painting the white line. I have the clear polish, the white thin pointed polish and the pinkish polish. How can i make a straight line because i keep messing up ?

I usually start doing my left hand first and do each finger one by one laying it flat (the nail part of the finger that is). I hold the brush in my right hand and paint the white tip from left to right. and do the opposite on my right hand. I hope this helps :)

Sounds cute to me, just have it at a safe length like you said :D On the other hand...isn't it against cheerleading rules to have your nails covered in polish while you're cheerleading? I used to be a cheerleader and it was against the rules because if you got hurt and passed out or something (unlikely, but still) the nails are an easy way to check if you're getting oxygen.
I think it is really cute. My only concern is considering you are a cheerleader... I hope your nails match any outfits you have otherwise they will really stick out.. yeah using that dotting instrument reaaaally comes in handy.
you can do...french, but instead of the typical white, use a different color, or do white and outline the top of the white with a different color. hah you can always use nail stickers. oh! and those little rhinestones? preeeettttyyyyyy. halloween's coming up, you should do some ';spooky'; nail design for that!

(pull it out towards the outside of you nail) also push a little inwards then get some silver polish and make it the center trust me this flower looks AMAZING all my friends ask where i got them done =). u can also do squiggly lines my friend has these super skinny brushes for nail and its cool if you make squiggly lines coming from 1 spot on ur nail.

They have nail art pens that you can use to draw on nail polish. I would suggest painting your nails in a bright color (any one you like) and then getting one of those pens and drawing a simple design on your nails. The pens look great and they're not that expensive, they come in all sorts of different colors, and you get the design you want because you can do it yourself.I need nail designs and colors for back to school!?

Get a nice deep magenta colour. Don't make it to dark or else it will look a little goth like. Look at the new espana collection by OPI, there is alot of nice colors. For designs, if you are bored with the same old flowers, try making streaks across your nails with black or white with a tooth pick once your base nail color is dry. There is also some stickers that you can buy with really pretty swirls for your nails at any drugstore like Shoppers or Walgreens. If you want to stand out from the crowd, use gray nail color and do the streak idea with both black and magenta. Hope it goes well!

Okay, so my nails are just passing over the skin if I look at them from behind with my hand out, but they look nice and long from the front...I don't want to do a french manicure, but more something summery/springy for my birthday party. I have toothpicks and nails files and everything because I love my nails to death, but I still am not that creative with them. Nail designs helpppppppp?
I just started painting and designing my own nails but i kinda know what im doing cause i learn quick. I have Wet n Wild Wild shine nail polishes. I have bijou blue[shinyish kinda blue] , eggplant frost[purple], lavender cream[hot pink], and a clear top coat. I also have soda fountain colored Petite polish[ light pink] and crimson pearl colored Petite polish [darkish red]. And finally i have Kiss Brush-On Nail Art paint. Which is like thin brushes to do french tips and stuff. I have that polish in blue, white, black and light purple. What cute designs can i do ?
Also my nails aren't square enough for french tips and i suck at painting the white line lol. So uhm pictures and videos or steps can help. Sorry for typing alot lol. Please and thank you =)Nail designs helpppppppp?

you could draw a little heart or tiny flowers on there. i bought an eyeliner brush for this and it works great. (toothpicks suck don't listen to people who tell you that. you should draw tiny white flowers and swirls on there and then dab on some sparkly nail polish in the center of the flower. i do stuff like that all the time and people are shocked to find out that i do it all by myself. if you don't want to go buy an eyeliner brush (you can just get a cheap one from target or somewhere), then you could find a normal paint brush and cut some bristils off to it's tinier. just go through the basement or attic and find some crayola painting kit (or something like that) from when you were 5 and use a few brushes from there. you can also search on youtube to find some kinda tutorial. if you need some inspiration on what to put on your nails, google images of nail designs. use your imagination! hope i helped! -kat

I did this the other day, it looks really cute:
Choose a base colour. I used pink. cover your whole nail with it and wait for it to dry.
Then choose a colour that is completely different to the colour you chose (I used gold) and paint it so that if you divided your nail diagonally it would fill the top diagonal half.
Then choose a dark colour like black or dark purple and use a cocktail stick to make a thin line across the diagonal division where the two colours meet.

okay...i have multiple questions. but here it goes. my sister was diagnosed with leukemia (cancer of the blood). so my family and one of my cousins decided we would start a non profit organization where we paint nails for sick children at hospitals in our area. but here are my questions, please try to answer them all. thanks =]

I think that's an amazing idea :) little things like that can really brighten a kid's day...especially a sick kid.
I just do simple things like flowers (5 dots kind of ';pulled'; inwards to make petals, and a dot inside for the center. You could also use a little rhinestone as the center), or stripes, or whatever.
There at one time was a really cute book at cracker barrel that had some really cute design idea like animals and balloons and stuff-
As for the goodie bags, go to walmart or target. You can get the little ';bon bon'; or ';bonne bell'; can't remember...mini nail polishes usually for about 50 cents or less (sometimes 3 for a dollar), as well as cute nail files, etc. That way you can get several colors.

I really like to do a leopard design. I know it sounds hard, but it really isn't. All you need is gold nailpolish, brownish/copper nailpolish, black nailpolish, a toothpick, and a top coat if you want it to last longer.
1st you paint your nails gold. Then you take the brownish/copper color and make little splotches. I recommend about 3-4 on each finger. Then you dip the toothpick in the black nailpolish and outline the splotches. You can leave some sides open though, I think that looks better. Pre-made nail designs?
ok so ive seen these things that are like a sheet of plastic or something and it has designs on it for nail, and you just press it onto your nail and the designs transfers onto your nail. im not talking about nail stickers or anything but if you know the name of what im talking about it would be a BIGGGGG HELP.Pre-made nail designs?
They are called water details and they use water to get transfered to your nail, there are many great desings that are easier to implement, you can also use sites like FlowerNailDesigns.com and pick a design from their gallery, they are very easy to make and it only takes a few minutes.

Their okay but I don't really like them because having four inch talons attatched to my fingers really gets in the way of things like when I'm typing on the computer or playing basketball or even putting in my contacts. I just paint my nails black,hot pink, or indigo blue sometimes.

You'd be surprised how many designs you can do on your nails with a dull-tipped pencil if you dont have any of those fancy tools. They work great for polka dots and flowers. As far as different designs go, you could use a neon (or really any) color nail polish as a base and once the nails dry, use a thin brush to paint on black zebra stripes. Or, for more animal print here, you could do cheetah/leopard print by using a white base. Then you take black nail polish with a regular brush and just blot on some leopard spots, and use another color (like a neon) to fill in the little spaces by the spots. That's kind of confusing, but you could find a video for it I'm sure somewhere on the internet. Pretty nail designs pleaseeee :] ?

Pretty nail designs pleaseeee :] ?
You'd be surprised how many designs you can do on your nails with a dull-tipped pencil if you dont have any of those fancy tools. They work great for polka dots and flowers. As far as different designs go, you could use a neon (or really any) color nail polish as a base and once the nails dry, use a thin brush to paint on black zebra stripes. Or, for more animal print here, you could do cheetah/leopard print by using a white base. Then you take black nail polish with a regular brush and just blot on some leopard spots, and use another color (like a neon) to fill in the little spaces by the spots. That's kind of confusing, but you could find a video for it I'm sure somewhere on the internet. Pretty nail designs pleaseeee :] ?

I would put a light pink over the nail bed, then a hot pink on the tips and glaze over all of it in a very VERY light silver. It's not all that exciting, but I think it would look more classy. I did the same thing w/ the color blue for my friends wedding.
Maybe you could add an animal print bracelet and/ or scarf. IMO, animal print is best used as a subtle accent.

Just make a green stripe and the rest of the nail will be pink.
Once it's dry take a toothpick or something like that and dip it in black nailpolish - then dot the pink area

Also add rhinestone sometimes their like 3 for 1buck at the place I go to!

i want to have a french manicure using red and white nail polish.. what design do you think would look best??

Paint a base colour, let dry. Use a toothpick to draw a design, stars, hearts, initials, anything you can think of, and paint with a top coat. Or you could paint a base coat, use stickers or nail decals, and paint with a top coat.

How about a French design in pink and white with a diagonal line tilting from thumb side down toward the pinky side. You can then add a single tiny crystal just above the lowest side.I do this design mostly for brides.because it draws alot of attention to their nails and that important ring!

1) paint all fingers black - wait til it dries
2) put a clear/top coat on all fingers - wait til it dries
3) paint the tip of each finger with pink tips (instead of the usual white) - wait til it dries
4) using pink acrylic paint, paint on polka dots on each finger - LEAVE 2 fingers on each hand polka dot free - instead, paint one bow on each of the polka dot free finger - wait til it dries
5) put on a top coat
yeh, hearts in red
if you have acrillic nails, only paint the tips the color you want and then maybe place a rhinstone on each tip. looks really tailored and cute!

i want just simple nail designs that doesnt require too much effort, but still looks good... only because i lack in experience and will most likely stuff up hard nail designs... i've already tried checkered, dots, stripes.... any other ones?

basically, it comes with these little plates with several designs on each, ranging from flowers to leopard print to ribbons...
all you do is take a little of the polish (old polish works too) paint it on the metal plate, scrape it off, stamp it, then stamp it to your fingernail. It dries in seconds.

you have alot of questions, my dear. I dont have any links but you should go to walmart and buy a nail art stick. then jus freehand. Like one time i did different shades of purple on my toenails (and a silver and white) and then did silver polka dots on my big toe.

then do black dots/splotches, then outline the black with an orange, but not completely surrounding the black leave spaces some places,

Do you know those little nail stickers they sell at pharmacies or beauty stores? They're super cheap. Places like Walgreens sell em.
Anyway, I'd first paint my nail a solid color. Let it dry thoroughly. Take a nail sticker and put it on whereever you want. I always liked the heart and star shaped stickers. They usually come in white and metallic colors. Place the stickers on your nails, press down for about 20-30 seconds for each nail to secure it. Take a top coat nail polish (clear) and finish each nail off with it.
A cute idea is to do a french manicure from those box kits. The kits come with these strips that allow you to make a clean line on each nail. Look into those too... they're great! I'd do a french manicure and then add little white hearts to the nails for a special touch :)

put a solid color on your nails first without fully letting it dry [pink for instance] then put sparkles on it and [red for example] then put a clear glaze ontop of it.

use the wider side of a toothpick or take the cotton off of a Q-tip, dip it in nail polish and u can make easy flowers and stuff! have fun!!

Okay, you would need Eyeliner as your nail polish now if you want to nails really good. Use the eyeliner which have a very thin brush and you can draw any designs in your nails and if u want the pics, see the link above..

Okay, you would need Eyeliner as your nail polish now if you want to nails really good. Use the eyeliner which have a very thin brush and you can draw any designs in your nails and if u want the pics, see the link above..

Simple nail designs?
I want to paint a design on my nails, but i never done it before. I'm using like neon pink nail polish as the base and i got some neon orange to paint a design with one of those thin brushes. I have no clue what to do, and i dont think dots with work very well because its so thin. Can someone tell me a simple one i can do? some pictures would be very greatly appreciated! thank you so much in advanceSimple nail designs?

umm i just use sharpie markers and then put clear nail polish over it
its soo much easier then painting on your designs and its easy to fix too because you can just take it off with rubbing alcohol and not mess up your base coat

I always have had long arcylic nails but now that I've been hired to work at an ice-cream boutique, they told me to lose the long nails. I was thinking about having them short but dont know what design I want, maybe French, gel or just full acrylic.
